Macey Stewart offered Australia its fifth title of the 2014 UCI Juniors Track World Championships when she won the Omnium. After her success in the team pursuit, Stewart will be packing two rainbow jerseys in her bags when leaving South Korea. She had to wait for the last event of the Omnium, the points race, to know whether or not the title was hers. She finished with 205 points. Italy’s Martina Alzini had the same score, while Soline Lamboley (France) took bronze with 181 points.

Women’s keirin: Degrendele in rainbow stripes

After coming third in the sprint, Nicky Degrendele is now the first Belgian woman to take the keirin title at the UCI Juniors Track World Championships. The silver medal went to Australia’s Courtney Field, who claimed her third medal of these Worlds after gold in the sprint and silver in the 500 metres. Germany’s Doreen Heinze finished third.

Men’s madison: Title for New Zealand

Regan Gough could well be one of the great track cycling names of the future. Second last year (with Liam Aitcheson) in the Madison, the New Zealander has built up an impressive collection at the Gwang Myeong velodrome. Silver in the individual pursuit before winning the World Juniors title in the points race, he finishes his South Korean appearance with the title in the Madison. The Kiwis (Gough and Luke Mudgway) beat the Germans (Jurczyk / Porzner) and the Portuguese (Oliveira / Oliveira Rui).

Men’s sprint: Jeone Park in front of his public

South Korea’s Jeone Park only needed two rounds to claim the junior sprint world title from Sébastien Vigier (France). After the team event (2nd), it was the third medal for the host nation of the 2014 UCI Juniors Track World Championships. Australia’s Dean Braeden won his country’s 13th medal with his fourth place.
